Our School
Rocks is the dedicated Mud Hut Digital Internship Programme.
Our Interns learn many aspects of promoting bands and musicians, via the
internet, with little or no budget. Essential skills required
as you progress your music business career.
Much of what our Interns do is computer based, globally researching on the
net, radio stations, music related publications, websites, blogs and
databasing all the contact information, so we can efficiently and
personally present to them our artists and their releases. Also
optimizing our use of social network sites like twitter all of which will
be geared to promoting the artists we currently work for as well as
perhaps even discovering new ones.
We like to think that we can steer and mentor Interns in the areas of the
industry that most enthuse them and where ever possible we will try to
allocate relevant assignments.
Skill range: Our Interns have a good general awareness of the music
industry and want to learn more. Our Interns are computer literate
and love using the internet. Social networks such as mySpace,
Facebook, twitter, youTube etc are a key tool in music marketing, so our
Interns enjoy using those. If you like the idea of being in an
office, with five fellow Interns, looking at aspects of online promotion
within the music industry then you would be welcome to apply.
Fluency in other languages, although not essential, are of course
preferred, as this opens up other territories for our artists to be
promoted.
Team members attend the Academy for one or more days per week to suit, from 10am until
3pm. Our office is in BN12 4NX, West Sussex, well situated for public
transport links, with a mainline coastal route bus stop immediately
outside the premises and a mainline train station within walking distance
of 0.8 of a mile.
No qualifications or previous experience required, just a passion for
music, enjoying using the internet and motivated to further career
options.
